Small Group Counseling

Small group counseling is offered for students who may benefit from a positive social experience. Often children can gain strategies, support, and encouragement from their peers that they can’t get from their counselor or other adults.  Small groups will run mostly in the second semester of school. Students can be referred for small group counseling by parent, teacher, or administrative referral. Before students are placed in small groups, I will meet with them individually to ensure they are a good fit for the group and will send home a permission letter to be signed before the second group session.  Groups will be no larger than 4 students. Topics could include, but are not limited to, grief, social skills, manners, organization, study skills, and friendship.
